Not only did his quote come in the lowest, but his knowledge of painting and professionalism shown when I met him, made me confident I’d made the right decision. We recently purchased a large fixer in NW Austin. Its most glaring problem? The color. Sea-foam green siding,
hunter green trim, and a red front door. On a gray
brick house. Each time we met a new neighbor, they'd ask, "what color are you going to paint?"
Years ago we had a next-door neighbor who managed construction sites. He told us that the way to find a good painter was to walk into a local paint store and ask them which painter gave them the most business and paid their bills. When I walked into my local
Benjamin Moore store and asked them which painter they recommended, the manager handed me Mike's card without hesitation.
Mike came out right away to give us a quote. He was professional, thorough in his explanation and candid in his assessment. He's personable, well-spoken and clearly knows what he's talking about. We hired Mike to scrape popcorn texture and float ceilings downstairs, paint our two-story foyer, complete stuccoing begun by a previous owner, and paint the exterior.
He started when he said he would and finished on schedule. He manged his time well, shifting between interior and exterior jobs to accommodate weather and curing time. He kept us apprised of delays and conflicts. He worked cleanly and never left a mess. We hadn't moved into the house at that point, and I felt comfortable giving him a key so that he could come and go at will.
Mike has high standards for his work. He re-floated seams that looked fine to us. He patched a hairline crack in the foyer that I'd never noticed, then textured the patch to match the wall before painting it. He works very quickly, but he doesn't cut corners or take chances. He tested the stucco with a special spray to make sure it was fully cured before he primed it.

He purchased the stain at a well known store and gave us the receipt to show what he paid. Our home is part of the before and after picture's trailing his services page, In 2005 I could not find anyone carpenter or painter to open our window's on our 90 year old home , Mike opened and re-roped all 15 windows on our home and did so without leaving a trace of his existence, no debris or dust! we had just had Florida shutter's installed and in able for Mike to resume his job he had to remove and re-install them and did so with perfection , his time frame was shorter then the original installation!
Mike is a true , Consummate and gifted tradesman whom treated our home like his own and as of this year he did a 99% percent restoration on or exterior that can not be matched! in a time frame that out paced a crew of 5 working on a home across from ours, he did so and fit the pricing to meet our budget during these tough times , we wish that the questionable county licensing practices would have allowed him and his family to stay here , we are going to truly miss him and his integrity , Good Luck in Texas !
